After installing the GoBright app on the display, the next step is to activate the device in the GoBright portal. This links the display to the portal and ensures that the correct profile, settings, and configuration are applied.
GoBright View devices must be activated within the GoBright View portal. Read the article here to learn more.
Log in to the GoBright portal and navigate to Settings > Devices > Displays.
Click Add to create a new device or select an existing device from the list to edit its settings.
Enter a name for the device. Choose a clear and descriptive name that makes it easy to identify the device in the GoBright portal.
Select an existing profile, or add a new profile, to define the purpose of the display. The selected profile determines how the device will function.
Depending on the selected profile:
- Room Display → the device functions as a room display.
- Wayfinder → the device functions as a wayfinder.
- Map Viewer → the device functions as a map viewer.
- Visitor Kiosk → the device functions as a visitor kiosk.
Next, select the device location. This location is used for reference purposes only and does not determine the device's functionality.
Please note: Selecting a location is only required when the Visitor Kiosk profile is selected.
Access
Next, under Activate via, select Activation code and enter the code displayed on the device.
If the activation code is entered correctly, the device will be activated automatically.
Please note: The activation code is not case-sensitive, so you can enter it using either uppercase or lowercase letters.
Status
When the device is activated, you can view essential information about the device:
- Last heartbeat
- Application version
- Local time
- Uptime
- Operating system
- Firmware
- Manufacturer and model
- Serial number
- Network connection
