Installation of The GoBright App on Philips BDL3751T series Android 13

This article explains how to install the GoBright App on a Philips BDL3751T Series display running Android 13. By following the steps in this guide, you will download, install, and configure the application so the display is ready for use as a GoBright room booking screen.

1. Start up the display

1.1 Choose your preferred language and select Start.

1.2 Select your time zone and select Next.

1.3 Skip the options Clone media files into internal and Signage Display Settings.

1.4 Enable in the Security Settings menu: SICP Network Port, External Storage and Unknown Sources Installation and press Next.

1.5 Disable the Admin Password. In the device profile in GoBright you are able to use an pin code. Therefor is this option not needed.

1.6 Disable SFTP and select Next.

1.7 Select in the Network Settings; Ethernet. Turn on Ethernet in the top and select Finish.

1.8 Skip the Philips Wave prompt.

1.9 Select the top icon above the navigation bar.

1.10 Select the Gear Icon.

1.11 In the next prompt open the Advanced option select Off timer and set this to Off.

1.12 Go back to the home screen by clicking on the house icon till the prompt isn't shown.

2. Download the GoBright Device app

2.1 Swipe up and Select Chromium.

2.2 Browse to https://install.gobright.cloud and select Meet/Work/Visit.

2.3 Select Android 8 or higher.

2.4 Select Download GoBright Device App (vXX.XX). 

Note: Version 15.16 is required!

2.5 When the app is downloaded select Done.

2.6 Select the center bottom HOME-dot in the navigation bar.

3. Install the GoBright Device App

3.1 Swipe up and select Settings.

3.2 Select Signage Display.

3.3 Select Source settings.

3.4 Select Custom App.

3.5 Click on Select app.

3.6 In the prompt, select the GoBright - Device app and save.

3.7 Check if the app is changed to GoBright - Device and also if Force restart custom app is enabled.

3.8 If that's checked, go back twice the back icon in the navigation bar till Signage Display menu is visible. When this is shown, select General Settings.

3.9 Select Floating menu.

3.10 Select Settings.

3.11 Select Always off and close the prompt.

3.12 Select the center bottom HOME-dot in the navigation bar.

3.13 Open the GoBright - Device app on the display. 

3.14 Select While using the app.

3.15 Select Allow.

3.16 Select Continue.

3.17 Switch on the toggle button and select Arrow back icon in the navigation bar.

3.18 Check Date and time (change if necessary) and select Confirm and reboot.

3.19 After reboot, your GoBright Activation Code is presented.

With the activation code you're able to go to the next step and activate the display in the GoBright portal.

Note: For the most reliable connection, we strongly recommend using a wired PoE+ network connection.

If a wired connection is not available and you need to use Wi-Fi, disable the following Android Wi-Fi settings (if available):

  • Avoid poor network connections
  • Notify whenever a public network is available

Disabling these options helps prevent the device from switching networks or disconnecting during Wi-Fi maintenance or temporary network fluctuations, improving the overall reliability of the GoBright App.

You can find these settings by navigating to Android SettingsWi-FiAdvanced.

To access the Android settings, you must first exit the GoBright App. For instructions, see the article Close the GoBright App on a display.

Note: These settings are not available on all Android versions. If you cannot find them, they are not supported on your device.
