The Elsys ERS LoRa and ERS CO₂ LoRa sensors are wireless environmental sensors designed to monitor indoor conditions and improve workplace comfort. They provide reliable data on key environmental parameters, supporting smarter workplace management. The ERS CO₂ LoRa model additionally measures CO₂ levels to help monitor indoor air quality.

1.Installation
Follow the steps below to install the Elsys ERS LoRa sensor and ensure proper operation.
Installation
1.1 Remove the back panel
Carefully remove the back panel of the sensor by gently releasing the tab with a small screwdriver. Take care not to damage the sensor housing or internal components during this process.
1.2 Instal the batteries
The ERS LoRa sensor requires two 3.6 V Lithium batteries (ER14505) for optimal battery performance. While the sensor can operate with a single battery, using two batteries is recommended to achieve the best battery life.
If only one battery is used, place it in battery slot A.
Important: Only use the recommended battery type. Using other batteries may reduce performance, shorten battery life, or damage the device. Dispose of used batteries according to local environmental regulations.
2. Commissioning
Follow the steps below to commission the Elsys ERS LoRa and Elsys ERS CO₂ LoRa sensors and connect them to the GoBright environment.
Commissioning
2.1 Open the GoBright Mobile app and log in with an account that has Administrator rights. Navigate to: Settings → Admin tools (three stripes).
2.2 In Admin tools you can continue with the sensor commissioning process.
2.3 Select LoRa Sensors (beta)
2.4 Then select LoRa Sensors
2.5 Select the vendor
2.6 It will lead you to the Scan NFC page
2.7 Keep this position in mind when configuring or communicating with the device via NFC to ensure a successful connection.
2.8 Hold the NFC area of your phone against the back of the sensor until the NFC scan is completed.
2.9 Select the room to which the sensor should be commissioned using the drop-down menu.
2.10 Select the room from the list of room.
2.11 You will find the Sensor ID linked to the selected room. Press Commission Sensor at the bottom of the screen.
Note: Technically, the sensor can also be assigned to other spaces, such as desks or parking spaces.
2.12 Hold the NFC area of your phone against the side or back of the sensor again to program the device.
2.13 Your sensor is now commissioned.
Commissioning Complete
After successful commissioning, the Elsys LoRa sensor will be visible in both the GoBright Mobile App and GoBright Portal.
The following steps explain how to locate the Advanced Gateway and what information is available about it.

Navigate to: Settings → Admin Tools → LoRa sensors (beta) → LoRa sensors
The device will be listed with the device type LoRa sensor.
In the GoBright mobile app you can see the following information:
- Device EUI
- Coupled room / desk / parking
GoBright Portal
Navigate to: Settings → Devices → Sensors
The device will be listed with the device type LoRa sensor.
In the GoBright portal, the following information is available for the commissioned LoRa Sensor:
- Coupled room / desk / parking
- Type
- Device EUI
Dimensions
The drawing below shows the dimensions of the Elsys ERS LoRa sensor in millimeters, providing the measurements needed for planning and installation.
Mounting
For accurate measurements and reliable wireless communication, install the Elsys ERS LoRa sensor according to the following guidelines.
The Grid-EYE sensor uses an 8x8 temperature matrix with a 60° field of view and a detection range of up to 5 meters for human presence detection.
When installing the sensor, consider the coverage area and ensure that enough sensors are placed to monitor the desired space. Avoid positioning the sensor towards windows, direct sunlight, or moving heat sources, as these may interfere with temperature measurements and cause false occupancy detections.
Recommended placement
Mount the sensor on an open wall surface at an installation height of approximately 1.6 meters. For optimal RF performance and accurate environmental measurements, ensure that the ventilation openings are positioned vertically.
Avoid placing the sensor:
- In direct sunlight
- Near heating vents or heat sources
- Close to windows
- Near air ventilation outlets
These locations may cause measurements that do not accurately represent the overall conditions of the room.
Mounting the sensor
Secure the back panel to the wall using at least two suitable screws through the available mounting holes. Alternatively, the sensor can be attached using double-sided adhesive tape.
Once the back panel is installed, attach the sensor by aligning it with the back panel and hinging it securely into place.
Battery life
The Elsys ERS sensors are designed for long-term, low-maintenance operation. Under normal operating conditions, the expected battery life is at least 10 years and can reach up to 20 years, depending on the sensor configuration, reporting interval, and environmental conditions.
LED Indications
The LED indicator, located in the bottom-right corner of the sensor, provides visual feedback on the device status. Different LED signals indicate various actions and operating states when the sensor is active.
