Interact External Sensor

The GoBright External Sensor (Article: INT1-DOSC) is an occupancy sensor that detects occupancy based on movement. It is designed to be used as an accessory for the GoBright Interact, enabling accurate occupancy detection and real-time status updates.

When movement is detected, the sensor communicates with the GoBright Interact, allowing it to automatically update the occupancy status of the resource. This helps ensure that resource availability is displayed correctly across the GoBright platform, improving workspace visibility and enabling more efficient use of the spaces.

How it works

The GoBright INT1-DOSC sensor detects movement within its detection range and reports the occupancy status to the GoBright Interact. When connected, the external sensor overrides the Interact's built-in occupancy sensor, ensuring that occupancy is determined solely by the external sensor.

The occupancy behavior is as follows:

  • When movement is detected, the Interact changes to orange within approximately 5 seconds, indicating that occupancy has been detected.

  • When no movement is detected, the Interact returns to green after approximately 60 seconds (based on Interact firmware version 2.6.1).

  • If sensor-based check-in is enabled, an active booking is automatically checked in after approximately 2 minutes of continuous occupancy detection.

  • If automatic booking termination based on no occupancy is enabled, the booking is ended after approximately 2 minutes of continuous inactivity, plus any additional delay configured in the GoBright Portal settings.

What do you always need in order to connect the external sensor with the GoBright Interact:

  • GoBright Sensor INT1-DOSC

  • GoBright Cable INT1-DOSC to connect the Interact with the Sensor

Sensor placement

For optimal performance, position the sensor so that the distance from the front edge of the desk to the front of the sensor is 300–350 mm.

Make sure the sensor has an unobstructed field of view to ensure the best possible detection area and reliable occupancy detection.

Sensor mounting

Mount the motion sensor in the center of the underside of the desk, positioning it 300–350 mm from the front edge of the desk.

Secure the sensor to the underside of the desk using the two supplied flat-head screws. Ensure the sensor is firmly mounted and has an unobstructed field of view to provide accurate and reliable occupancy detection.

Connect the External sensor to the Interact

Connect the RJ45 connector of the cable to the sensor.

Then, connect the micro-USB connector of the cable to the GoBright Interact.

Power supply and motion detection

The sensor is powered directly by the GoBright Interact.

Once the sensor is properly connected, the LED will light up green, indicating that it is receiving power. The LED will then begin flashing orange, while the Interact displays the message 'Sensor initializing'.

The initialization process takes approximately 30 seconds. Once it is complete, the orange flashing will stop, and the sensor will be ready for use.

To activate the motion sensor, slowly wave your hand in front of the sensor 5 to 10 times. Once movement is detected, the sensor's LED will turn orange.

After the Interact and motion sensor have been installed, you can verify that the setup is working correctly. When the motion sensor detects movement, the Interact will change to orange, indicating that occupancy has been detected. If there is an active booking and the user has checked in, the Interact will turn red.

If the expected status is not displayed, verify the following:

  • The sensor is correctly connected to the Interact.

  • The Interact is receiving power.

  • The portal settings are configured correctly.

  • All cabling is securely connected and functioning properly.
