Installation of GoBright Android App on Philips Signage display

Follow these steps to install the GoBright App on Philips BDL3650q and BDL4650d Signage displays: 

 

  1. 1. Choose your preferred language and press Start 

  1. 2. Select the correct time zone and press Next 

  1. 3. Clone Media Files into Internal -> Skip 

  1. 4. Signage Display Settings -> Skip 

  1. 5. Security Settings: Checkmark ON for: SICP Network Port, External Storage (for future Philips FW updates) and Unknown Sources Installation and press Next 

  1. 6. Network Setting - Preferred Ethernet (POE+) and press Next 

  1. 7. Turn Ethernet on using the switch-button 

  1. 8. Press Finish in the next screen 

  1. 9. Wave -> Skip 

  1. 10. Screen goes black 

  1. 11. Use the remote and press “Home-1-8-8-8” 

  1. 12. Choose Apps and start Chromium (choose “no-thanks” in the browser if asked) 

  1. 13. Go to the page https://install.gobright.cloud 

  1. 14. Choose Meet/Work/Visit or View

  1. 15. Choose Android 8 or higher 

  1. 16. Choose Download GoBright Device App and select Download anyway 

  1. 17. Press on the three dots menu button on the right top of the browser and choose downloads 

  1. 18. Press on full-xx.xx.apk and choose Install 

  1. 19. Do not open the GoBright App yet – press “done” 

  1. 20. Close the browser - back arrow on the remote (Signage displays) until you see all the Apps 

  1. 21. Choose Settings – Signage Display – Source settings – Custom app – Select app 

  1. 22. Choose GoBright – Device and save 

  1. 23. Press the back arrow and open the GoBright App 

  1. 24. Choose “While using the App” 

  1. 25. Choose “Allow” 

  1. 26. Press continue and select “GoBright – Device” and switch “Allow Do Not Disturb” to ON – press allow 

  1. 27. Press 2 x arrow back 

  1. 28. Press continue and turn ON the switch “Allow modifying system settings” 

  1. 29. Press 1 x arrow back 

  1. 30. Press Confirm and reboot 

  1. 31. Press “Reboot now 

  1. 32. After the reboot: Press home button on the remote, scroll down to Configuration 1, select boot on source and choose “custom” – this makes sure the GoBright App starts after a power cycle or reboot. 

  2. 33. Go to "Advanced Option" and set "Off timer" to off 

  3. 34. Set the "Power Save" mode to Mode 4 

  4. 35. Go back to the apps and start the GoBright app 

  5. 36. The activation code is shown again to activate your device in the GoBright Portal
