Badge Printer Configuration

For badge printing, the kiosk tablet sends the badge print job to a compatible printer via a network connection or Bluetooth. Once a visitor has completed the registration process, their badge is automatically printed with the configured information and design. This allows visitors to receive their badges directly at the reception kiosk without requiring assistance from reception staff.

Please review the certified hardware overview for tested and supported printers.

For detailed instructions on installing and configuring the supported badge printers, please refer to the following guides:

Configure badge printer

A badge printer must be configured when activating the visitor registration kiosk. Depending on your setup, you will need to add the relevant printer settings to the device configuration.

  1. Log in to the GoBright portal using your manager account.
  2. Navigate to Settings > Devices.
  3. Click Add to create a new device, or select an existing device from the Display list to edit its configuration.

Badge printing service

Enable the badge printing service by selecting Badge Printer Service enabled. Then enter the required Hostname, API key, and Printer name to configure the connection between the kiosk and the badge printing service.

Adding a specific printer, label and orientation

Note: GoBright App version 6.0 or later is required to configure these settings.

Enable the Hardware Printer Enabled option. The supported printers will then appear in the dropdown menu. These printers can be connected via network or Bluetooth.

Select your printer from the dropdown menu and configure the following settings:

  • Label: Select the type of label or paper tape used by the printer.
  • Orientation: Choose either Landscape or Portrait. This setting must match the orientation configured when creating visitor badges.

For network printers, enter the printer's IP address or hostname. Bluetooth printers must be paired and configured directly on the device.
