To show PowerPoint presentations in GoBright View the presentations needs to be saved as either images or a video file. It is not possible to upload the .ppt file directly.

PowerPoint slides as images

When your PowerPoint presentation contains one or more static slides (without an animated transition between them) the best way to get these into GoBright View is to save the slides as images. This way you can tweak the duration of the slides in GoBright View. Also, if a slide needs to be changed or removed, only that one has to be replaced.

Advantages

• Changes can be made per PowerPoint slide
• Duration can be tweaked in GoBright View
• Smaller file size, faster upload

Disadvantages

• Slide transitions / animations from PowerPoint cannot be transferred to GoBright View. There are slide transitions available in GoBright View but you'll need to set that up manually.

How to save PowerPoint slides as images

1. Open the PowerPoint presentation
2. Go to Save As
3. Select .JPG or .JPEG as file type
4. Click save

How to use these images in GoBright View

1. Open GoBright View
2. Open the template you'll want to use or create a new one
3. Click  the blue "Add widget" button on the right
4. Click "From Media Library"
5. Optional: create a folder named with the title of the presentation, open this folder
6. Click upload and select all the images you saved earlier from PowerPoint
7. Check (select) all the images of the presentation
8. Click done

Now a widget with all the images/slides will be added to the template. Click save. You now can add this template to a playlist. For more information about playlists, see: Adding playlists

 

PowerPoint presentation as video

To keep the transitions, timing and other aspects of the presentation (such asa audio) it is possible to save the PowerPoint presentation as a video file. This video file can then be uploaded and used in GoBright View.

A disadvantage of this is when you need to change a slide. You than need to replace the whole video.

Advantages

• Keep animations, timing, sound and other aspects of your PowerPoint presentation

Disadvantages

• It is not possible to edit a slide, you'll need to replace the whole video when a change is needed
• It is not possible to edit timing of slides from GoBright View
• Larger file size

 

How to save a PowerPoint presentation as a video

1. Open the PowerPoint presentation
2. Go to Save As
3. Select .MP4 as file type
4. Click save

 

How to use this video in GoBright View

1. Open GoBright View
2. Open the playlist where you want to add the presentation
3. Go to Slides
4. Click "Add"
5. Click "Media"
6. Upload the video file of the presentation

This way the presentation will be shown full screen. It's also possible to add the video file to a template. Please refer to the "Media Files" article: Media files
