Once the profile has been created, the device still needs to be added to GoBright. The device can then be linked to the appropriate profile so that the configured settings are applied.
To add a Multi Gateway:
- Go to Settings > Devices > Gateways.
- Enter a Name for the Multi Gateway and select the appropriate Multi Gateway Profile.
- Select the correct Time zone for the location where the gateway is installed.
The Multi Gateway
When installing the Multi Gateway, place it in an open area and avoid confined spaces or locations where the wireless signal may be obstructed.
The Multi Gateway has a wireless range of up to 40 metres. However, walls, furniture, and interference from other devices can reduce the actual range. A single Multi Gateway can support up to 100 Connects.
There are two ways to activate the Multi Gateway:
- Serial number and installation code: The serial number and installation code can be found on the back of the Multi Gateway. This option requires physical access to the device.
- Activation code: If the Multi Gateway has already been installed in a hard-to-reach location, you can use an activation code to activate it remotely without needing physical access to the device.
- Both the serial number & installation code can be found on the back of the gateway.
- The serial number contains 16 characters (S/N : 0000 0000 0000 000A).
- The installation code contains 20 characters (Inst code: XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX).
- When both numbers are entered press Save continue.
- Use a tool (like ipscan) to find the IP address of the Multi Gateway.
- Access the Multi Gateway by entering the IP and port number 8080: 192.168.0.1:8080.
- Under the action header click on Show settings.
- The Activation code will be shown in a table with a Value in the second column.
- Enter the Value in the portal to activate the Multi Gateway
It can take up to 2-5 minutes before the Multi Gateway is activated after entering the codes. Note that it needs to be connected to the platform and NTP time synchronization is enabled.
When the Multi Gateway is connected and activated it will be displayed in green text, and the status will be shown on the device page.
