Outlook Add-in issue

Note: Final Solution is now available, see Step 1 of : Configuring the GoBright Outlook Add-in for Microsoft Office 365

Due to recent changes in Microsoft Outlook’s behavior since late February, you might encounter issues with the GoBright Outlook add-in. These may affect:

  • Adding catering and services or pre-registration to meetings.
  • Editing existing meetings, as the GoBright plug-in currently cannot synchronize meeting details/IDs with the GoBright portal.

The error/message you will see after saving the meeting is the following:

What happens?

If you save a meeting in Outlook, it will still appear in the GoBright portal and on room displays (thanks to calendar synchronization). However, catering, services, and pre-registration cannot be added via Outlook at the moment. Instead, you’ll need to use the GoBright portal for these features.

Temporary Solution ( no longer needed):

Note: Final Solution is now available, see Step 1 of : Configuring the GoBright Outlook Add-in for Microsoft Office 365

Our development team is working on a permanent solution, but in the meantime, you are able to execute a temporary solution to help you continue using these functionalities without disruption.

First, you need to connect to Exchange Online via PowerShell.

Then, use the following command:

Connect-Exchange Online (login with Office365 administrator account)

Set-AuthenticationPolicy –AllowLegacyExchangeTokens -Identity "LegacyExchangeTokens"

It can take up to 24 hours before this command can take effect and all requests from Outlook add-ins for legacy tokens are allowed.

With this workaround the plugin will function properly as it did before.
