Configuring Entra ID / Azure User Photo Synchronization

The User Photo Sync Integration gives us the ability to sync user photos from Entra ID / Azure. Of course, the users already need to have photos associated with their user account in Entra ID/Azure.

This integration will sync the photos for any already synced user in GoBright from the tenant. So, it is advisable to already have a sync method setup (preferably SCIM), to have a seamless photo integration. For SCIM, please check the following article SCIM User Provsioning.

The synced photos will show for the user as a profile photo as well as in the week planner and the user's bookings.

Configure User Photo Sync Integration

To enable and configure the User Photo Sync Integration, you already need to have an M365 Integration with Application Mode (check article).

*Note: The user photos will sync every 45 minutes, don't worry if you don't see the photos immediately after you complete the integration.

  • Open the GoBright portal, go to the Admin Center by pressing the four squares on the top right corner and press Admin Center.

  • Go to Integrations and open your M365 Integration and there you will be able to see the User Photo Synchronisation option.

  • You will need to enable the Integration and then Link the integration by pressing the green Link button

  • When you press the Link button you will get a popup from a Microsoft SingleSignOn, for this step you need to sign in with your Global/Cloud admin account as this will ask for permissions to create an Enterprise Application which will be used to read the user profile pictures from the tenant.

  • After accepting and creating the Enterprise Application, the integration will be linked and completed, don't forget to also Save the integration at the end.

When the integration has been done, as the note says above, the photos will not sync immediately, and you may need to wait 45 - 60 minutes for the sync to be completed. And when the sync is done it will become visible everywhere.
