Configuring map viewers

Map viewers display a combination of maps, such as multiple floors of a building. The primary purpose is to place the map viewer on a touch display at the entrance of a building or floor. When someone enters, they can easily view the available rooms or desks and, if needed, quickly book a room or desk on the spot.

A map viewer is configured in the portal, where you assign a name and select the maps to display. To customize how the map viewer is presented, you need to create a map viewer profile.

Once the profile is set, you can create a device, selecting both the map viewer profile and the map viewer to be displayed.

Manage map viewers

Log in to the GoBright portal using your manager account, then navigate to Settings > Maps > Map Viewers.

To add a new map viewer, click the Add button, or select an existing one to edit.

General

A map viewer is assigned a name, which is used within GoBright to link it to devices and other elements.

The language setting determines the language used when the map viewer is displayed. By default, it matches your default language, but you can change it if needed. To select a different language, simply untick the "Language inherited from relation" option, which will make additional language choices available in the portal.

Items

You can add 'map viewer items' to include maps in the map viewer, and if needed, add separators for better organization. This allows you to display multiple buildings or zones based on the structure of your building(s).

Simply add each map you want to display, and you're all set!

Adding map viewer to a device

You can use either a touch or non-touch screen to display your map viewer. To add a device, go to the GoBright portal under Settings > Devices > Displays > Add, then select the profile for your map viewer and the map viewer itself. You can grant access either via an Activation Code or a Direct Access URL.

With a Direct Access URL, you can display the map viewer on your device without needing the GoBright device app. For more information on activating a device using the GoBright app, please refer to the linked article.
